The Department of English offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses across a wide range of genres, authors and historical periods in English literature and language, as well as Irish, and American literatures, and literary theory. The WUB English Department offers 4 years bachelor and 1 year master degree in the areas of literature. In future, the university is planning to offer English degrees on ‘linguistics’ which is under process

The learners in this department will fosters the skills in reading, clarification, communication and analysis of students to create captivating. The study of English Literature teaches students to understand the novels, drama, writing, visual texts and non-fiction in their cultural contexts, from the medieval to the present day.
The study of literature also involves an understanding culture and an appreciation of intellectual and aesthetic aspects of existence. Studying literature can help students to cultivate excellent skills in reading, analysis, interpretation and communication. The subject English Literature originated as a study of the literatures of Great Britain and Ireland, but it now also incorporates literature in English from around the world.

The Department of English offers units of study at the undergraduate level in the areas of English and Western Literature.
The BA in English 4 years (Honors) degree consist total 42 courses, 129 credit hours and one dissertation or thesis.
