The Department of English, World University of Bangladesh arranged a virtual discussion ceremony and cultural program, 'JAGROTO SHADHINOTA (জাগ্রত স্বাধীনতা)' on 26 March 2022 to celebrate the 51st Independence day of Bangladesh. Honorable Vice-chancellor of World University of Bangladesh, Professor Abdul Mannan Choudhury inaugurated the program as the chief guest and joined in the discussion ceremony. Mr. Nurullah Patwary, Assistant Professor moderated the session.

The current students, alumni and teachers presented different patriotic songs, poems and short drama in the cultural event to pay a tribute to all the freedom fighters of Bangladesh.

Ms. Humayra Akhter, Lecturer; Ms. Sarah Tabassum, Lecturer; Mr. Md. Nasim Fardose Sajib, Assistant Professor and Mr. A H M Ohidujjaman, Lecturer along with other teachers of English Department, WUB lead the arrangement to make the program successful.
