Seminar on “Pharmacy Profession in Bangladesh"

The Department of Pharmacy, World University of Bangladesh organized a seminar on “Pharmacy Profession in Bangladesh" dated on 25^th May, 2024. The Honorable Vice Chancellor, Heroic freedom fighter Prof. Dr. Abdul Mannan Choudhury was the chief guest of this program. The special guests were Pro-vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. M. Nurul Islam and TreasurerMorsheda Choudhury. The keynote speaker was Prof. Dr. Sakina Sultana, Department of Pharmacy, Jahangirnagar University. The program is chaired by head of the department Prof. Dr. Md. Harun-Or-Rashid.  Advisor of the Pharmacy Dept Prof Dr. Md. Saokat Ali, Professor Zaki Imam, Registrar, WUB were also present in the workshop.

The aim of the seminar was to desiminate knowledge about Pharmacy profession and the opportunities in the job sectors for pharmacist such as drug formulation, pharmacy education research, pharmacotherapist, pharmacy regulatory affairs etc. to our current students. The seminar also highlighted or emphasized to produce newer drug formulation with better efficacy to meet the healthcare needs of our population.  Keynote speaker Prof. Dr. Sakina Sultana was very pleased to observe our laboratory setup and she encouraged the students to conduct research work. Prof. Sakina Sultana donated books to the students and to the department. Students & faculty members of Pharmacy department and administrative officials were also present in this seminar to make its success.
