The ADLF Event on Truth and Justice at Prothom Alo's office

ADLF comprises a diverse group of young lawyers, legal academics, and human rights activists dedicated to advocating for justice and equality. Our organization has actively supported the student movement while providing legal assistance, marking a significant milestone in our journey during the movement and since the victory.

Topic- Truth, Justice, Accountability and Reparations for Crimes Against Humanity: Comparative Experiences from Africa and Latin America.

Speakers-

  1. Ms. Yasmin Sooka, a distinguished human rights lawyer from South Africa, shared her invaluable insights from her extensive experience with the Truth and Reconciliation Commission in South Africa and her role in addressing accountability for war crimes in Sri Lanka.
  2. Mr. Carlos Castresana Fernández, a respected magistrate and former Commissioner of the International Commission Against Impunity in Guatemala, brought his wealth of expertise in addressing corruption and international crimes, offering a global perspective on transitional justice.
Overall, the event was enlightening, enriching our understanding of these critical issues and reinforcing our commitment to justice and accountability.
