Short Biography:

Mr. Md. Masudur Rahman belongs to historic Brahmanbaria district, located in the east-central region of Bangladesh. He earned B.Sc (Hon’s) degree in Chemistry and M.Sc (Thesis) degree in Analytical & Environmental Chemistry from Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST), Sylhet. Currently he is a PhD researcher (part-time) under same institution. He worked as a research fellow at Institute of Radiation & Polymer Technology (IRPT) Laboratory, Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission, Savar, Dhaka at the first half of 2013. He joined WUB on the 16th September 2013 as Lecturer (Chemistry) under Basic Science Division and now then working as a senior lecturer here. He teaches general chemistry (lab & theory), polymer science and environmental management specially design for engineering students at graduate and undergraduate levels. Being a researcher, Mr. Rahman has five publications in different peer-reviewed index journals of home and abroad. His research interest in the field of environmental science, polymer composite, adsorption, analytical synthesis & characterization, waste management, green chemistry, sustainable materials, nanotechnology etc. He successfully completed the training course on Chemical Analysis & Quality Control of 04 (four) weeks duration conducted by Training Institute for Chemical Industries (TICI), Central Training Institute of BCIC. He has good command over Chem Draw, Sigma Plot, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Power Point, Microsoft Outlook, Windows Me, Windows 2010, E-mail, Internet Browsing etc. In terms of co-curricular activities, Mr. Rahman worked as general secretary for Dik Theatre and assistant general secretary for Chemistry Society of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology. He also involved some debate competition and sports event at national level from his childhood. Playing cricket, reading books and gardening etc. are his hobbies. As career objectives Mr. Rahman wants to be a successful teaching personnel that will permit continued learning and there by development and services to the community at large, ultimately become a good human being.
