WorldUniversity of Bangladesh organized a reception on 25th February, 2014 at the National Museum and awarded a Gold Medal to the Educationist, Freedom Fighter and activist of Language movement, Emeritus Professor Dr. Anisuzzaman for his receiving the prestigious award “Padma Bhushan”. The ceremony was graced by the Honorable Health and Family Welfare Minister, Mohammed Nasim as the Chief Guest and Mr. M Azizur Rahman, Former Secretary, Former Chief Information Commissioner, and Chairman, NationalMuseum as Special Guest.
Morsheda Choudhury, Treasurer of the University read out the “Reception Address” to Professor Dr. Anisuzzaman and presented a beautiful replica of a Lotus flower. Prof. Dr. M. Nurul Islam, Pro-Vice Chancellor of the university delivered the address of welcome.
Chief Guest, Mohammed Nasim said let the Emeritus Professor Dr. Anisuzzaman live long and inspire us to uphold the spirit of the liberation war.
Emeritus Professor Dr. Anisuzzaman said that erosion of moral values is prominent in all around. Our present generation along with all of us should come forward to uphold the lost values.
Professor Dr. Abdul Mannan Choudhury, Vice Chancellor of the university said in his speech: giving a reception to a personality like Emeritus Professor Dr. Anisuzzaman is more than honouring ourselves. In fact, the Padma Bhushan or something like or better than this was long-overdue. However, WUB family is happy and wishes him all brilliant achievements in his life.
