Project show and seminar on science,engineering and technology

Students of Mechatronics Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Textile Engineering and Pharmacy presented their innovations in the project show ol'ganized by WUB.

 

Prior to this, a seminar was held on Science, Engineering and Technology at the auditorium of WUB main campus. The chief guest of the seminar was Dr Mashiur Rahman, economic advisor to the hon'ble prime minister of the People's Republic of Bangladesh. The seminar was presided over by the hon'ble vice chancellor of WUB, valiant freedom-fighter Prof. Dr Abdul Mannan Choudhury. The main paper was presented by one of the special guests of the seminar, Prof Dr Rezaul Karim Mazumder, acting Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, University of Dhaka. The other special guests were Prof. Dr M Kaykobad, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, BUET, Prof. Dr Engineer Mohammad lqbal, Head, Industrial and Production Engineering, Shahjalal Science and Technology University, Sylhet. Hon'ble chairperson, Board of Trustees, Morsheda Choudhury gave the welcome speech.

 

The chief guest Dr Mashiur Rahman emphasized on the importance and necessity of science and engineering education and knowledge of technology. He adviced to utilize technological skills to become self-sufficient. Professor Dr Abdul Mannan Choudhury said that education based on Science, Engineering and Technology should be realistic, utilitarian and life-oriented.

 

Later on, Dr Rahman, along with the hon'ble Vice Chancellor, saw all the projects and revealed his pleasure and satisfaction and also praised the gradual progress of WUB.

 

The number of projects presented in the seminar are.Department of Mechatronics Engineering: 19 projects-, Department of Civil Engineering: 17; Department of Computer Science and Engineering: 9; Electrical and Electronic Engineering: 15, Department of Pharmacy: 7; and Department of Textile Engineering: 5
