A seminar on "Blockchain for Sustainable Development in the Service Industry" was held on 12 TH October, Tuesday at 11.00 am in the WUB auditorium. Dr. Rafiuddin Ahmed, Associate Professor, Department of Marketing, University of Dhaka, delivered his valuable speech as a keynote speaker. He explained why the concept is relatively new to the subcontinent but popular in other parts of the world. His presentation demonstrated that Blockchain is an ongoing digital record of who owns what. A "block" containing encrypted information about a transaction's time, location, dollar amount, and participants are joined to other blocks to form a chain. He also highlighted the importance of developing entrepreneurial skills among the students to meet future challenges.
In this seminar, Professor Dr. Abdul Mannan Choudhury, Honorable Vice Chancellor, World University of Bangladesh, was the Chief Guest whereas Professor Dr. M. Nurul Islam, Pro-Vice Chancellor of the university remained as a Special Guest. This session was chaired by Dr. Selim Ahmed, Head, World School of Business, WUB. Students and faculty members enjoyed the spontaneous presentation of the expert and hoped to build long term collaboration with the organizations concerned.
