World Engineering Day is celebrated globally on 4th March. Department
of Computer Science and Engineering, World University of Bangladesh has taken an
initiative to celebrate the day in Bangladesh through various arrangements. These
initiatives include, among others, teacher and student rallies, workshops and
poster presentation competitions. Honorable Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Abdul
Mannan Chowdhury attended the rally today and inaugurated all these events by
blowing balloons. Prof. M Nurul Islam, Pro Vice Chancellor; Morsheda Chowdhury, Treasurer;
Prof. AFM Abdur Rauf, Dean, Faculty of Science and Engineering; Heads of various
departments and teaching staff were also present.
Vice Chancellor Abdul Mannan Chowdhury in his inaugural speech said
that there is no alternative in human resource development to survive in the
competition of science and technology. World University of Bangladesh is
continuing its efforts to transform the people of this country into skilled
human resources in a short period of time through technology-based education. Addressing
the students of various departments of the Faculty of Science and Engineering
as future engineers, he said that we should proceed with planned preparations
to face the fourth industrial revolution.
The rally of teachers and students started from the main entrance of
the university and ended by circling around the university.
