WUB Textile Club arranged a heartfelt farewell
program on August 5, at 11.00 am in the Professor Dr. Abdul Mannan Choudhury
Auditorium, WUB to celebrate the accomplishments and memories of the outgoing
students as they prepare to embark on the next chapter of their lives.
Professor Dr. Abdul Mannan Choudhury, Honorable Vice Chancellor, WUB was the
chief guest of the farewell program. Prof. Dr. M. Nurul Islam, Pro Vice
Chancellor, WUB; Mohammad Ashraful Islam, CEO, Marketo Services, editor and
publisher, Textile Focus & Denim Focus; Dr. Ruhul Amin Khan, Director,
Institute of Radiation and Polymer Technology, Bangladesh Atomic energy
Commission, were present as the special guests. Md. Monjur Hossain, Samrat
Haldar and Md. Akter Hossain were present as alumni guests. ‘Textile Focus” a
magazine based on textile and apparel was the media partner of the program.
Honorable Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Abdul
Mannan Choudhury spoke eloquently about the graduates during the program,
expressing pride and admiration for their accomplishments. "Today, we say
goodbye to a group of exceptional young individuals who have demonstrated their
resilience, dedication, and passion during their time at WUB. They have left a
lasting impact on our University and will undoubtedly leave their mark on the
world beyond these walls", he remarked. He also inspired the graduates to
contribute to the diversified textile sector of Bangladesh.
The students received career related advice and
recent World scenario of apparel and textile sector from Mohammad Ashraful
Islam and Dr. Ruhul Amin Khan, who also encouraged them to pursue further
education and research. Md. Monjur Hossain, an alumnus who is interested in
green textiles, concentrated on this field. After the program, refreshments and
cultural arrangements were provided. In their farewell speeches, the students expressed
gratitude towards their teachers, mentors, and parents for their unwavering
support and guidance. They shared cherished memories and recounted the
transformative experiences that shaped their character and nurtured their
talents.
Md. Mostafizur Rahman,
Chairman of the Department of Textile Engineering, World University of
Bangladesh, chaired the program. He emphasized on career paths of students and advised
them to develop soft skill like patience for their future life. Ayesha Zulkernine,
general secretary, WUB Textile Club thanked everyone for joining the program at
the end of the session.
