A Delegation Team from the
United States Agency for International Development (USAID) visited the World
University of Bangladesh to strengthen the bilateral agreement for the
Integrated Supply Chain Management certificate program.
The meeting was presided over by
Honorable Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Abdul Mannan Choudhury, and attendees
included Morsheda Choudhury, Honorable Treasurer; Prof. Zaki Imam, Registrar;
Prof. Dr. Selim Ahmed, Dean, Faculty of Business Studies; Mr. Kamrul Hossain,
Sr. Deputy Registrar and Maruf Ahmed, Jr. Deputy Registrar. On the other hand,
Mr. Justin James Lawrence, Mrs. Kaitlan Alida Havlicek, and Mrs. Parveen
Sultana Huda represented USAID in the meeting.
Both teams discussed on
different aspects of academic collaboration such as curriculum development for
short courses, industrial visits, scholarships for female students, career
fairs, marketing strategies, etc. During the meeting, USAID officials inquired
about the progress of the certificate course on Integrated Supply Chain
Management. They ensured that USAID will provide guidance and support to the
World University of Bangladesh to continue the certificate courses in the long
run. They suggested the university to organize seminars, training, and workshops
on Supply Chain Management regularly to increase awareness among the students.
They emphasized the importance of female students engaging in the certificate
course in order to improve their knowledge and abilities in supply chain
management and advance their careers. The team also discussed about the
sustainability of the program.
