Professional Management Accounting Education

The Department of Business Administration, World University of Bangladesh and The Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) collaboratively organized a seminar on “Professional Management Accounting Education in Bangladesh: Implications for Business Graduates”. The seminar was held on January 25th, 2023, in the WUB Auditorium.

The Chief Guest was Professor Dr. Abdul Mannan Choudhury, honourable Vice Chancellor of World University of Bangladesh. Professor Dr. Mohammad Zakaria Masud FCMA, Director of Academic Affairs at ICMAB was the keynote speaker of this event. The special guests were Professor Dr. M. Nurul Islam, Pro-Vice Chancellor, World University of Bangladesh, Mr. Md. Kausar Alam FCS, FCCA, FCA (ICAEW), FCMA, Secretary, ICMAB and Mr. S.M. Zahir Uddin Haider FCMA, Counselling Member, ICMAB. The session was chaired by Dr. Selim Ahmed, Head, Department of Business Administration.

 

The seminar focused on the implications of professional management accounting education for business graduates in Bangladesh and the importance of obtaining a professional degree such as the CMA from ICMAB. The seminar aimed to provide insights for business graduates and professionals in the cost and management accounting field and to help them understand the significance of the CMA degree in the current job market.

The seminar was open to all interested parties, including students, business professionals, and academics. It was an excellent opportunity for individuals to gain knowledge and insights of the current trends and challenges in cost and management accounting.

The Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) is the Bangladesh's National Professional Accountancy Body and the only institution of Bangladesh that offers the Certified Management Accountant (CMA) degree. The ICMAB is committed to promoting the highest standards of professional education and providing quality services to its members and the community.
