In a bid to bolster its
commitment to academic excellence, the English Department at the World
University of Bangladesh hosted a team-building workshop on January 15, 2024,
focusing on the meticulous preparation of a Self-Assessment Report (SAR). This
workshop played a pivotal role in the accreditation process mandated by the
Bangladesh Accreditation Council (BAC).
Led by A H M Ohidujjaman, Lecturer
& Head of Program Self-Assessment Committee (PSAC), the workshop brought
together the department's faculty members, with active participation from Md.
Nasim Fardose Sajib, Assistant Professor & Head, Department of English. The
collaborative effort aimed to instigate comprehensive preparations for the
impending SAR.
During the workshop, activities
were centered around the delegation of responsibilities, establishment of
timelines, and strategic scheduling of meetings. The primary focus was on
ensuring the department's compliance with BAC standards and a thorough
self-assessment of the intended program.
The dynamic facilitation by A H M
Ohidujjaman, supported by other dedicated members of the committee, set the
tone for a productive session. The engaged participation of faculty members
further enriched the discussions, fostering a collective commitment to meeting
accreditation requirements.
The workshop's conclusion saw a
unanimous agreement within the department to work collaboratively on crafting
an outstanding SAR. The commitment to excellence and adherence to BAC standards
were highlighted as key principles that will guide the department through the
accreditation process.
As the World University of
Bangladesh's English Department embarks on this accreditation journey, the
collective efforts of faculty members under the guidance of the PSAC promise a
robust and thorough Self-Assessment Report that reflects the department's
dedication to maintaining high standards of education.
