World University of Bangladesh Prioritizes 4IR Skills and Sending Students to AI Session

February 5, 2024 - the FBCCI Innovation and Research Center, in collaboration with the Prime Minister's Office, hosted a groundbreaking meeting centered on the theme "Artificial Intelligence (AI): It's Potential and Challenges Bangladesh Perspective". The event, held at the FBCCI Innovation and Research Center building in Dhaka, brought together esteemed experts, policymakers, entrepreneurs, and academics to delve into the transformative power of AI and its implications for Bangladesh's future.

Chaired by Mr. Akhtar Hossain, Chief Coordinator of SDG Affairs at the Prime Minister's Office, and with significant contributions from Mr. Mostafa Azad Chowdhury Babu, Senior Vice Chairman of FBCCI-IRC, the meeting featured a keynote address by Mr. Russel Sikder, Chairman and CEO of AI CERT. Mr. Sikder's presentation illuminated the vast potential of AI in both technical and business domains, sparking insightful discussions among attendees.

Throughout the meeting, entrepreneurs, academics, researchers, and policymakers engaged in vibrant discussions on mastering AI and its implications for various sectors. The consensus emerged on the urgency for local stakeholders to equip themselves with AI proficiency to harness its benefits effectively.

A significant outcome of the meeting was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between AI Certs and FBCCI Innovation and Research Centre. This collaboration aims to enhance IT, AI, and blockchain skills in Bangladesh, potentially opening avenues for increased employment opportunities and technological advancement.

World University of Bangladesh underscores its commitment to 4IR by empowering students with cutting-edge technological skills. Sending students to attend the AI conference reflects the university's dedication to preparing future leaders for the digital era.
