World University of Bangladesh Hosts "Pitha Utshab-2024" Celebrating Cultural Diversity and Patriotism

February 15, 2024 - World University of Bangladesh's Cultural Club proudly organized a vibrant and culturally enriching event, "Pitha Utshab-2024," held within the university premises from February 15th to February 16th, 2024. The event commenced at 10:30 AM and continued till 5:00 PM, showcasing a rich array of traditional delicacies and cultural performances.

With a total of 29 stalls representing 13 departments, the festival offered a delightful opportunity for students and faculty alike to immerse themselves in the diverse cultural heritage of Bangladesh. From mouth-watering traditional pithas to captivating performances, the event captivated the senses and celebrated the essence of Bangladeshi culture.

Presiding over the event, heroic freedom fighter Prof. Dr. Abdul Mannan Choudhury commended the tireless efforts of the university's treasurer and Pro Vice-Chancellors in ensuring the success of the event. He emphasized the importance of fostering student leadership and patriotism through such co-curricular activities, underscoring the university's commitment to holistic education. Additionally, Prof. Choudhury announced plans to honor seven freedom fighters on the university's upcoming founding anniversary, highlighting the institution's dedication to honoring national heroes.

Chief Guest G.S.M. Jafarullah, Grade-1 Secretary and Managing Director of Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority, lauded the cultural extravaganza, describing the university as a treasure trove of life's richness. He commended the participants for their impeccable display of aesthetics and invited all attendees to explore the innovative offerings of Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority, echoing the university's motto of resilience and determination.

The event commenced with a warm welcome speech by Treasurer Morsheda Choudhury.The guests then visited the pitha stalls and tasted the pitha. University Registrar, Controller of Examinations, Proctor, Deans, Heads of Departments, Teachers, and Officials were also present on the occasion. Apart from the university teachers and students, common people around the campus enjoyed this festival.

The "Pitha Utshab-2024" stands as a testament to the World University of Bangladesh's dedication to nurturing cultural heritage, fostering student engagement, and promoting national pride. As the festivities continue, the university looks forward to future endeavors that enrich the academic and cultural landscape of Bangladesh.
