Vibrant Freshers’ Reception and Graduation Party

On June 7^th, 2024, the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the World University of Bangladesh hosted a vibrant Freshers’ Reception and Graduation Party. The event took place from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the WUB campus.

The function saw a wonderful turnout, with all faculty members and students in attendance. Md. Sharif Uddin Shajib, a Lecturer in the Department of EEE, commenced the session with a warm welcome speech and introduced all the distinguished guests.

In his inspiring address, Dr. Md. Riyad Tanshen encouraged students to become ambassadors for the World University of Bangladesh, promoting its values and reputation. Following him, Dr. Md Mohsin, Sr. Assistant Professor of the department warmly welcomed the new students and shared uplifting words for the graduating class, celebrating their journey and achievements.

A special highlight of the event was the ceremonial welcome of the new students with beautiful flower bouquets, symbolizing their fresh beginning at the university. This heartfelt gesture was a warm introduction to their academic journey ahead.

In recognition of their accomplishments, the graduating students were honored with commemorative crests, presented by our esteemed Pro-Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. M. Nurul Islam.

Sr. Deputy Registrar, Ahsan Thouhid Milton motivated the graduating students to consider pursuing the university’s Master’s program in Telecommunications, highlighting the benefits of further education.

The event was graced by alumni who shared their experiences and wisdom with current students. Mr. S.M. Tarikul Islam (40^th Batch) emphasized the importance of staying connected with the alumni network for career guidance and urged EEE students to seek job opportunities within their field of study.

Prof. Dr. M. Nurul Islam, the Special Guest, delivered a heartfelt speech. He encouraged students to maintain strong ties with the university post-graduation and to leverage the alumni network for better career guidance. He warmly welcomed the new students and wished them success in their academic journey at the university.

The session was presided over by Prof. Dr. M. Quamruzzaman, Head of the Department of EEE and Dean, Faculty of Science and Engineering. In his closing remarks, he expressed deep appreciation for the students and urged them to excel in their future endeavors, representing the World University with pride. He concluded the event with a vote of thanks, bringing the gathering to a close on a high note.
