The Department of
Tourism and Hospitality Management at the World University of Bangladesh (WUB),
in collaboration with the WUB Tourism and Hospitality Management Club,
successfully organized Study Tour 2025 from January 12-13, 2025. The tour, held
under the inspiring slogan "Exploring Together, Discovering Forever,"
took students and faculty to the breathtaking sites of Lawachara National Park
and Madhobpur Lake in Sreemangal.
The event was led by
Professor Nasimul Azim, Director of the Department of Tourism and Hospitality
Management, and coordinated by Md. Abdul Latif Mahmud, Assistant Professor of
the same department. Accompanying them were Md. Shafiqul Islam, Deputy Director
of Accounts, and Abdullah Al Faisal, Senior Administrative Officer.
A total of 40 students
participated, making the study tour an engaging and educational experience. The
tour aimed to provide hands-on learning opportunities by exploring the natural
and cultural heritage of Sreemangal, enabling students to gain practical
insights into sustainable tourism and hospitality management.
The two-day itinerary
included visits to the lush landscapes of Lawachara
National Park, renowned for its rich biodiversity, and the serene Madhobpur Lake, a spot celebrated for
its tranquility and picturesque surroundings. Students engaged in group
discussions, cultural observations, and interactive learning sessions,
enhancing their understanding of the dynamic tourism industry.
Speaking at the
conclusion of the tour, Professor Nasimul Azim expressed his gratitude to the
students and faculty for their enthusiastic participation. He emphasized the
importance of such experiential learning opportunities in bridging academic
knowledge and real-world practices.
