SPECIAL NOTICE TO
STUDENTS
Based on the discussion with the students of the University as on 22nd August 2024,
1. The University adheres to no politics and no smoking environment. Hence, in the past we have discouraged student politics; therefore, in the future such associations and any engagement political in nature is being prohibited. Further, no one should resort to drugs or intoxication. Such offence may lead to termination of studentship. The students who were involved in threatening the general students during the crisis period will be taken under disciplinary investigation and justice will be served.
2. You may be aware that we have extended the deadline for the fee payments for this month. Online classes will be held for this semester. So we require your complete participation and feedback. In addition to that, the newly proposed payment deadline and penalty fee structure will be imposed in due time.
3. To ensure good quality education, we are going to institute the standards of the accreditation agencies. This means we need your efforts and the contributions of our academics in research. Knowledge dissemination should be a two-way process and not a journey through which a student receives only and has less to contribute. Hence, you will be partners in process of the enhanced learning processes that we anticipate installing.
4. Continuous teacher assessments are already in place and you will be the assessor of effective and good teaching. We want that you get good quality of education and you also participate in the learning process with all your efforts.
5. For the good mental health of our students, we would be opening a psychological counselling centre. This will commence when the University has started operations physically. We are already in the process of commencing a medical centre for which department of EEE has been shifted to a new room. This facility will ensure remedy for illness and will also provide some off the shelf pharmacy facilities. The allegations raised by the general students on several faculty members will be taken on record and a investigative body will be formed to adhere on this matter.
6. Our labs and facilities are now abundant and we have plans for future erection of facilities in the north part of the campus. As we know we are recruiting good and able academics. Hence, lab work and other facilities will be improved gradually. To assess the lacking, a rapid assessment committee will be reformed with students, faculty members and associated officials to further assess and act according to the assessment within the proposed timeline.
7. One of the plans of the extension is to have a mosque of the University. This is a norm of all universities in Muslim countries. But in the meantime, we are planning to have a shed erected for regular prayers.
8. To ensure improved standards in learning, the University adheres to comply with that of Accreditating Bodies’ guidelines. Hence, the whole process of accreditation has been undertaken since December 2023: this is a two-way process and therefore along with the academics, the students are to put efforts through increased and continuous studentship to the different processes of the academic environment. This will enable to comply with the learning outcomes as proposed in the curriculum and meet the standards of the accreditating bodies.
9. The teaching and assessment strategy will also introduce new and innovative methods. We plan to have rubrics for assessment of all exams so that students know what is expected from them. To ensure that the teachers are providing up to date teaching, research would be a critical component for academic employability. In addition to that, the recruitment proceedings will be taking proactive measures to ensure adequate recruitment in the concerned departments.
10. To further express the freedom of speech and solidarity regarding the proceedings, an interdependent “Student Affairs Council” with an interim student and faculty committee will be declared within due time. Furthermore, this committee will work with the administrators to address further concerns regarding departmental and administrative lacking and fast-track the development and mitigation of all the concerns raised by general students.
11. An extensive evaluation and disciplinary committee will have to be imposed and will perform an extensive investigation regarding the top most employees and ground-level employees will be taken into account as soon as possible. The students have raised concerns in departments like Accounts, Student Support, Admission, and Help Desk employees. Instant action of training as well as mitigation will be in effect.
The updates of all the issues will be communicated to
you via our newsletter so that students understand how the university is
improving and be standing with to its commitment.
Wishing you a happy semester and good times for the
days to come.
