The
Department of Textile Engineering and Fashion Design at World University of
Bangladesh successfully organized Alumni Connect 2025 program on Saturday, June 28,
2025, at 11:00 AM in the Founding Treasurer Morsheda Choudhury Auditorium. This
special event aimed to celebrate and share the inspiring journeys and
professional insights of successful alumni with current students and faculty.
The program
was honored by the presence of Prof. Dr. M. Nurul
Islam, Pro Vice Chancellor of World University of Bangladesh,
who attended as the Chief Guest.
In his inspiring address, he expressed heartfelt appreciation to the alumni for
their continued involvement and emphasized the significance of such initiatives
in strengthening alumni-university relationships and fostering career
development.
Mr. A.N.M. Ahsan Thouhid, Joint Registrar of the university, also spoke at the event. He
highlighted the importance of sustained alumni engagement and encouraged
regular organization of such programs to bridge the gap between academia and
industry.
The session
was presided over by Md. Mostafizur Rahman,
Head of the Department of Textile Engineering and Fashion Design. In his
remarks, he reaffirmed the department’s commitment to cultivating strong and
lasting connections with its alumni community.

Students
of the Department of Textile Engineering and Fashion Design were also present
in the program, actively participating in the sessions and gaining practical
insights from the alumni. The event placed special emphasis on the importance
of developing additional skills beyond academic education, as highlighted by
speakers.
The event
concluded with a dynamic Q&A session, where students posed thoughtful
questions on career planning, skill development, and future industry trends.
Faculty
members expressed deep appreciation for the alumni’s involvement, and many
attendees described the experience as enlightening and motivational. It was
strongly proposed that Alumni Connect be institutionalized as an annual
tradition to foster ongoing collaboration between graduates, industry experts,
and the department.
