Seminar on “Exploring Research Methodology: Foundations for Academic Excellence” Held at WUB

The Department of Civil Engineering of the World University of Bangladesh (WUB) successfully organized a seminar titled “Exploring Research Methodology: Foundations for Academic Excellence” on September 26, 2025, at the Founding Treasurer Morsheda Choudhury Auditorium.

The event was graced by Professor Dr. M. Nurul Islam, Honorable Pro Vice Chancellor of WUB, as the Chief Guest, and Professor Zaki Imam, Registrar of WUB, as the Special Guest. The session was chaired by Mr. Sagor Kumar Podder, Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Civil Engineering.

The seminar was attended by Civil Engineering students from both day and evening programs—particularly those engaged in and preparing for thesis work—along with faculty members of the department.

In his address, the Chief Guest encouraged students to focus on research and to publish scholarly articles in reputed journals and books to enhance both societal impact and career growth. The Special Guest expressed his appreciation to the Department of Civil Engineering for organizing such an engaging and meaningful event, and he emphasized the importance of continuing similar academic initiatives in the future.

The keynote speaker, Dr. Leevesh Kumar, Associate Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, delivered an insightful presentation on identifying research problems and gaps, step-by-step research methodology with practical examples, and systematic approaches to academic and book writing.

In his closing remarks, Mr. Sagor Kumar Podder expressed heartfelt gratitude to all attendees and encouraged Civil Engineering students to maintain discipline and adhere to university regulations for timely degree completion. He also provided valuable guidance on effective thesis management and expressed his confidence in the students’ future success.

The seminar marked another milestone in WUB’s ongoing commitment to fostering quality education, research excellence, and student development.
