Brahmaputra river side at Gafargaon, Mymensingh.The river is joined by the Teesta river, one of its largest tributaries. 

Mymensingh Alexander Castle 6270.The "Alexandar Castle" or "Lohar Kutir" as it is locally known, is where Maharaja Surya Kanta Acharya invited Grand Duke Boris of Russia and General Sir George White to stay. Rabindranath Tagore, Lord Curzon, Mahatma Gandhi, and Subhas Chandra Bose also visited here. This earthquake-proof steel and timber building was built after his much vaunted "Crystal Palace" or "Rang Mahal" was completely destroyed by the "Great Bengal Earthquake" of 12 June 1897. Today this building is used as a college library.
