0009-0009-2286-3783Sumaya Akter Sarna is a Lecturer(Statistics) in Basic Science Division at World University of Bangladesh . She completed her Bachelor's and Master's degree in Statistics from Mawlana Bhashani Science and Technology University, Tangail, Bangladesh where she achieved outstanding academic success, securing 2nd position in her Honor's program and 1st position in her Master's degree. In recognition of her academic excellence, she was awarded the prestigious NST Fellowship. She also received merit-based departmental scholarship in her Honor's and Master's studies.
Her research focuses on statistical modeling, time series, and machine learning applications. Her Master's thesis titled "Predicting Tourist Spot's Popularity and Forecasting the Trend of Earning from Tourism: A machine Learning Approach" applies advanced analytical techniques to tourism data for improved forecasting and decision making. During her undergraduate studies, she conducted a research project titled "Effect of Covid-19 on Academic Results of University Students: An empirical study" which was published in the Slovak International Scientific Journal..
She is proficient in statistical software such as R, SPSS, SAS and is committed to teaching, research and mentoring students to develop strong analytical and data driven problem-solving skills.
