The
Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of World
University of Bangladesh inaugurated a 12-day workshop titled “Implementation
of Outcome Based Education (OBE)” at the Founding Treasurer Morsheda Choudhury Auditorium on
Tuesday, 12
May 2026.
The workshop,
organized by IQAC, will continue from 12 May to 23 May 2026, daily from 10:00
AM to 12:00 PM. The initiative reflects WUB’s ongoing commitment to maintaining
international standards in higher education as a top-ranked and permanently
recognized university, as well as a member of several prestigious international
organizations including AACSB, ACU, and AUAP.
Among the
distinguished guests present at the session were Professor Zaki Imam, Registrar
of the university; Md. Kamrul Hossain, Joint Registrar; Professor Dr. Selim
Ahmad, Additional Director of IQAC; and Professor Dr. Mohammad Quamruzzaman,
Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Science.
In their
remarks, the speakers stated that World
University of Bangladesh, recognized in the Times Higher Education
Impact Rankings 2025, WURI, and QS Asian University Rankings, has consistently
prioritized quality and utilitarian education. They noted that the
implementation of OBE represents another significant step toward aligning
teaching, learning, and assessment practices with global academic standards.
The keynote
presentation was delivered by Professor Dr. Md. Mizanur Rahman, Director of
IQAC. The inaugural session began with an introductory address by Dr. Swapan
Kumar Sarkar, Additional Director of IQAC.
The inaugural
day concluded with an interactive question and answer session where
participating faculty members actively exchanged views and ideas regarding the
successful implementation of OBE at the university.
