A day long international technical seminar and town hall discussion on Textile Testing and Processing for quality improvement were held on December 19, 2019 in Ball room, sector 07 convention center, uttara, Dhaka. Distinguished personalities in textile testing arenas of home and abroad, faculty members and students of different public and private universities participated in this mega technical event. Prof. Md. Abul Kashem, Honorable Vice-Chancellor, Bangladesh University of Textiles adorned the chair of the chief guest. All the speakers emphasized on using of latest technology in textile and garments arena. All the speakers were hopeful about capabilities with the integration of sustainability and industrial 4.0 revolutions. Md. Mostafizur Rahman, head of the department of Textile Engineering, World University of Bangladesh (WUB) along with faculty members and more than forty students participated in this program. Moreover, three students of WUB presented their project work on ‘Ecofriendly portable Toilet’ to the project showcasing segment. Everyone appreciated the project work knowing that it was made from ‘Sonali Bag’ (bag made from jute). Dr. Mubarak Ahmad Khan, Chief Scientific Advisor, Bangladesh Jute Mills Corporation was involved in this project and expressed his interest for further development and commercialization of it.
