World University of Bangladesh Promotes Clean Energy Awareness through Community Outreach Programme

The Department of Mechanical Engineering of World University of Bangladesh (WUB) organized a community outreach and educational awareness programme at Shandhani School and College, Gangni, Meherpur, under its initiative titled “Shobar Jonno” (For All) – WUB Clean Energy Community Outreach and Education Programme. The programme aimed to promote awareness of renewable energy technologies, energy conservation, and sustainable practices in alignment with Sustainable Development Goal 7 (SDG 7): Affordable and Clean Energy.

Md. Masudur Rahman, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO), attended the programme as the Chief Guest. Md. Abu Zafor, Head of Administration of Shandhani School and College, attended as the Special Guest, while Md. Habibur Rahman, Principal of the institution, was present as the Guest of Honour.

The WUB delegation included Masud Rana, Assistant Professor; Md. Sohel Rana, Assistant Professor; Yusuf Ali, Lecturer and Thesis Coordinator; and Md. Shariful Islam, Lecturer, from the Department of Mechanical Engineering.

As part of the outreach initiative, the WUB team conducted educational and awareness activities to encourage sustainable energy practices and strengthen university–community engagement. The delegation also visited BRB Industries in Kushtia to explore opportunities for university–industry collaboration and identify avenues for students to gain practical exposure to modern industrial technologies and engineering practices.

Through this initiative, World University of Bangladesh reaffirmed its commitment to sustainable development, community engagement, clean energy awareness, and industry-oriented engineering education.
