Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management at WUB Signs MoU with Asecure International to Launch Paid Internship Program in China

The Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management (THM) at the World University of Bangladesh (WUB) is excited to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Asecure International. The ceremony took place on Saturday, 26th October 2024, at 12:30 PM in Room No. 502, marking a significant step in enhancing the practical training opportunities for THM students.

The purpose of this collaboration is to establish a paid internship program for WUB students at prestigious 5-star hotels in China, providing them with invaluable international exposure and skill development opportunities in the hospitality sector.

Prof. Dr. M Nurul Islam, Pro Vice-Chancellor of WUB, attended the ceremony as the Chief Guest. Special guests included Professor M. Moqbul Hossain, Controller of Examinations, and Prof. Dr. Selim Ahmed, Head of the Department of Business Administration. Representing the Registrar’s Office were Senior Deputy Registrar Kamrul Hossain and AHM Milton, highlighting the administration's strong support for this initiative.

The agreement was formally signed by Mr. Mohammad Nasiul Azim, Professor & Director of the Department of THM, on behalf of WUB, and Mohammad Arif, CEO of Asecure International.

Md. Abdul Latif Mahmud, Assistant Professor & Coordinator and Sara Murtaza, Lecturer of the Department of THM, attended the MoU signing ceremony as a witness, accompanied by other faculty members who joined to mark this milestone event.

Prof. Dr. M Nurul Islam emphasized the importance of international exposure, stating, "This partnership opens doors for our students to gain practical skills and cultural experiences that are crucial for their professional development in the hospitality industry."

The collaboration with Asecure International aligns with WUB’s commitment to providing quality education and industry-ready graduates. By offering this paid internship program, the Department of THM aims to enhance the employability of its students and equip them with the skills necessary to excel in the competitive hospitality field.
