WUB Hosts IEOM 2025 International Conference

The World University of Bangladesh (WUB) hosted the IEOM 2025 International Conference on December 20–21, 2025, organized by the Industrial Engineering and Operations Management (IEOM) Society International.

The two-day international event brought together academics, researchers, and industry professionals from more than 15 countries to discuss emerging trends in industrial engineering, operations management, supply chain, sustainable manufacturing, Industry 4.0, and digital transformation.

Distinguished keynote speakers including Rear Admiral Dr. Khandakar Akhter Hossain, Vice-Chancellor of Bangladesh Maritime University; Brig Gen. A. K. M. Khabirul Islam, PhD, (MIST); Dr. Navid Saleh (University of Texas at Austin, USA); Dr. Ahsan Habib (Dalhousie University, Canada); Professor Javaid Butt (Birmingham City University, UK); Dr. Shakil Quayes (University of Massachusetts Lowell, USA); and Dr. Md. Mazharul Habib (BITAC, Bangladesh) contributed lot through their paper presentation.

The conference was chaired by Professor Dr. Md. Mizanur Rahman, Professor of Mechatronics Engineering, World University of Bangladesh, with Dr. Ahad Ali, Associate Professor, Lawrence Technological University, USA, and Executive Director of IEOM Society International, serving as Conference Co-Chair. Prof. Dr. Nurul Islam, Pro VC, World University of Bangladesh was present as the Chief Guest of the opening ceremony and inaugurated the 2 day long international conference. Prof. Zaki Imam, Registrar, World University of Bangladesh, welcome the participants through his speech in the opening session.  Joint Registrar Mr. Kamrul hosain and Mr. Ahsan Touhid Milton, HoDs, Deans of the faculties, faculty members and students were also present in the program.

Over 290 research papers and abstracts were submitted from countries including the USA, UK, Canada, Finland, Australia, Japan, and Bangladesh, highlighting the global significance of the conference.

The program featured keynote addresses, technical sessions, panel discussions, and student competitions, focusing on innovation, sustainability, and industry–academia collaboration.

The successful hosting of IEOM 2025 underscores WUB’s commitment to international research collaboration and academic excellence.
