The WUB Textile Club of the World
University of Bangladesh hosted a grand reception ceremony to celebrate the
outstanding achievements of its students in the recently concluded Business Idea
Competition 2026.
Team "Green Genesis," mentored by Md. Ariful
Hossain Faisal, Lecturer, Department of Textile Engineering, was named the First
Runner-Up for its sustainable business
model. Adding to the department's success, another talented team, "Eco Pulp BD," mentored by Mohammad
Bellal Hoque, Assistant Professor, Department of Textile Engineering, received the prestigious Best
Innovation Award for its groundbreaking
eco-friendly business concept.
The reception ceremony was
organized to congratulate the winning teams and recognize their dedication to
integrating engineering knowledge with entrepreneurial innovation.
Professor Dr. M. Nurul Islam,
Honorable Pro-Vice Chancellor of WUB,
attended the ceremony as the Chief Guest. In his address, he expressed immense pride in the students'
remarkable achievements and emphasized the growing importance of sustainable
engineering and innovation in shaping the future of business and industry.
Professor Zaki Imam, Registrar of
WUB; Professor Dr. AQM Shafiul Azam, Dean of Academic Affairs and Research; Dr.
Ruhul Amin Khan, Director, Institute of Radiation and Polymer Technology,
Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission; and A.N.M. Ahsan Thouhid, Joint Registrar
of WUB, were present as Special Guests. They congratulated the winning teams on their remarkable success
and encouraged them to transform their innovative ideas into impactful
real-world ventures while continuing to bring pride and recognition to the
university.
The ceremony was presided over by Md. Mostafizur Rahman, Head of the Department
of Textile Engineering. In his closing remarks, he
thanked the university leadership for their continuous support and praised the
WUB Textile Club for organizing an inspiring program that motivates students to
pursue innovation, entrepreneurship, and excellence.
The event concluded with the
presentation of tokens of appreciation to the award-winning team members,
followed by a group photograph with the distinguished guests, marking another
proud milestone for the Department of Textile Engineering and Fashion Design at
the World University of Bangladesh.
