The Department of Textile Engineering and Fashion
Design at World University of Bangladesh (WUB) organized a Green Fair on the
third floor of the university on 14 October 2026 under the department’s SDG 15
Project 3 initiative, “Life on Land.”
Professor Zaki Imam, Registrar of WUB, inaugurated the
fair as the Chief Guest. He visited the stalls, praised the department’s
initiative, and encouraged students and faculty members to take an active role
in fostering a greener campus culture.
The fair was also inaugurated by Md. Mostafizur
Rahman, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Textile Engineering
and Fashion Design. He said, “The Green Fair demonstrates how our students can
transform sustainability ideas into practical products. As a department focused
on textiles and fashion, we have a responsibility to promote eco-friendly
practices, and this initiative is a step toward achieving that goal.” He also
expressed his gratitude to the Registrar, faculty members, and students for
their contributions to the success of the fair.
Faculty members, staff, and students of the department
participated in the event, while students from various departments showcased
their sustainable products. Teachers and students from different departments
also visited the fair and appreciated the displayed initiatives.
The Green Fair reflects WUB’s commitment to the United
Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and its continued efforts to
promote environmental awareness and sustainable practices among students and
faculty members.
