With the slogan of Digital Bangladesh, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, World University of Bangladesh (WUB) organized its ‘5^th National WUB ComTech Festival’ on November 24, 2016 at the Panthapath Campus auditorium of the University. The festival was inaugurated by the chief guest, Professor Abdul Mannan, Chairman, University Grants Commission of Bangladesh (UGC). The ceremony was chaired by Prof. Dr. Abdul Mannan Choudhury, Vice Chancellor of the University. Professor Dr. M Nurul Islam, Pro-Vice Chancellor of the university; Mostafa Jabbar, President, Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS); Morsheda Choudhury, Treasurer of the university and Munir Hasan, Coordinator, Youth Programme at Prothom Alo were present as special guests. Prof. Dr. Musfiq M. Choudhury, Secretary, Board of Trustees (WUB) was present as welcome speaker.

The students from different universities participated in "Robotics contest", “IT Olympiad” and "Project Showcasing". College students participated in "Debate Competition" and "IT Olympiad". The festival also consisted of Gaming contest for gamers and Programming contest for Programmers. Renowned IT experts and specialists took part in various seminars and workshops for the promotion of science and technologies. The main attraction of the festival was Smart Technologies ICT Fair. Different ICT service providers also participated in this festival. The festival will be rounded up on November 25, 2016 in the evening. A.K.M Mozammel Huq MP, Honorable Minister, Ministry of Liberation War Affairs (MOLWA) shall remain present as the Chief Guest in the concluding session.
