Department of Mechatronics Engineering, World University of
Bangladesh organized “Mechatronics Tech Fest
2023” on 18th September, 2023 at WUB campus, Uttara. ‘Mechatronics Tech Fest 2023’ covered both Interdepartmental
Engineering Project Competition and ICT Olympiad at college level. This event
held a very special value as this event has brought together around 100 students
from 13 colleges around Dhaka City to participate in the ICT quiz as
well as to gather knowledge on different engineering projects.
The aim of this ‘Mechatronics
Tech Fest 2023’ is to provide a platform for the engineering students
of World University of Bangladesh to develop and showcase their technical
expertise. In this event, through amalgamation of fun and learning, spectacular projects were displayed,
and students felt inspired to dream bigger and even achieve higher.
Heroic Freedom Fighter Professor Dr. Abdul Mannan Chowdhury, Honorable Vice Chancellor, World University of
Bangladesh graced the ceremony as Chief Guest in this event. Dr. Mushfiq Mannan Choudhury, Commissioner,
Bangladesh
Telecommunication Regulatory Commission acted as Guest of Honor in this event. Prof Dr. M Nurul Islam, Pro-vice Chancellor, Morsheda
Choudhury, Treasurer, World University of Bangladesh & Dr. Shugata Ahmed, Assistant
Professor, Department of Robotics & Mechatronics were present in this event
as Special Guests. Engr. Mr. Tajmir Alam, United Shakti
Ltd and Engr. B M Arifuir Rahman, Director (SE),
Bangladesh Power Development Board also graced the event as honorable Special
Guests.
Mechatronics Tech Fest 2023 covered ICT Olympiad at college level
which is a major event in the field of
information and communication technology. Students from Government Bangabandhu
College and Gazipur Commerce College received the award of Champion, 1st
runner up and 2nd runner up. In the Interdepartmental engineering
competition, innovative projects were displayed and gave poster presentation on
interesting topics like IR 4.0, SDG goals and green energy. The champion team
of Interdepartmental engineering competition showcased a project on artificial
intelligence driven Farming robot addressing the agricultural needs of
Bangladesh.
