MoU Signed Between TOAB and the Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management, WUB

The Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management (THM) of the World University of Bangladesh (WUB) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Tour Operators Association of Bangladesh (TOAB) on Monday, October 13, 2025, at 3:00 PM, in the THM Lab of the university.

The ceremony was graced by Professor Dr. M. Nurul Islam, Honourable Pro Vice-Chancellor of WUB, and Professor M. Moqbul Hossain, Controller of Examinations. Also present were A.N.M. Ahsan Thouhid and Md. Kamrul Hossain, Joint Registrars; Mohammed Shaiful Hannan, Joint Controller of Examinations; and respected faculty members.

On behalf of TOAB, the MoU was signed by Mr. Mohammad Moniruzzaman, Director (Training & Research), and witnessed by Mr. S.M. Hafizur Rahman Faruque, Adviser, and Mr. Mohammad Nezam Uddin Bhuyan, Company Secretary. Representing WUB, Professor Mohammed Nasimul Azim, Head and Director of THM, signed the MoU, witnessed by Mr. Md. Abdul Latif Mahmud, Assistant Professor & Coordinator, and Mr. Pulak Sarker, Senior Lecturer, THM.

Under this agreement, THM students will have opportunities for internships, volunteer programs, and field projects organized by TOAB, gaining valuable industry exposure and practical experience in Bangladesh’s tourism and hospitality sector. During the event, Mr. Sunny, a 9th-semester student, was appointed as the University Ambassador, while several others were selected as official volunteers to represent WUB in various national tourism events.

This MoU marks a significant step toward strengthening academia–industry collaboration and enhancing students’ professional and research opportunities in the country’s growing tourism landscape.
